Vacuum casting, also known as silicone casting, is an alternative to small-batch injection molding of plastic parts. Usually, the mold uses CNC or SLA parts as prototypes, mold is made of silicone material, and through the vacuum injection process, polyurethane (PU) material is poured to form the parts. The vaccum casting parts can accurately replicate the structural details and textures of the prototype parts, providing a surface finish consistent with the prototype, obtaining results similar to those of injection molding production.

The workflow of Xiamen Guansheng’s vaccum casting:
1. Check the original prototype and connect the injection port.
2. Surround the prototype and place columns on the side. So that there won’t be too much deviation during the upper and lower fit.
3. Add curing agent into the silicone, then stir evenly, and pour it into the surrounded box.
4. Place it in a vacuum machine to vacuum.
5. After vacuuming, put it in an oven at 55 degrees Celsius for 6 to 8 hours.
6. After solidification, separate the upper and lower molds with ascalpel, then take out the prototype.
7. Heat the mold to 55 degrees Celsius, fit the upper and lower molds together, insert the positioning column, and then wrap it with adhesive tape to prevent the gap from being too large.
8. Mix A and B materials, place them on the vacuum cup holder, evacuate the vacuum.
9. After 30 minutes, pour the A material into the B material, stir evenly, and pour it into the mold.
10. Bake in an oven at 70 degrees Celsius. After 2 to 5 hours, take out the product when the temperature drops to 40 degrees Celsius.
11. Check if the dimensions are the same as the original prototype.
